Meet Sophie:

I have just made the big move to New York City from Portland, OR, three years after earning my Bachelor of Arts in Music and Theater, concentrations in acting and vocal performance at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. While at Muhlenberg I had the opportunity to play many exciting roles such as the Witch in Into The Woods, Skylar in Bring It On!, and Bart Simpson in Mr Burns: A Post Electric Play. 

 

With over a decade of teaching experience, nurturing the talents of the young performer, part of my studies at Muhlenberg included an internship at the Brooklyn Children’s Theater in NYC, under the guidance of brilliant teaching artists who have masters degrees in theater education. Beyond my college career, I have been a teacher at Northwest Children’s Theater here in Portland since I was 14. If you have enjoyed shows at Northwest Children's Theater over the years, you might remember me as Snow White in NWCT’s 2016 production of Snow White, or the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland just before that, or even several years before that, as Cinderella in their very first production of Cinderella in 2013!

 

I have been taking private voice lessons since I was 12-years-old, and have been playing violin and taking private lessons since I was 7-years-old. The practice of violin is really what spring-boarded my love for music. I specialize in working with kids and teens, as well as beginner adults!
